Early Life and Childhood
Tyler Lepley was born on March 24, 1987 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, USA. Charles Dinnis is his father’s name, and Jennifer Dinnis is his mother’s name.
Tyler was raised by his mother and stepfather. When his mother remarried, he was six years old.

Career
A producer at a boxing gym discovered Lepley about three months after he moved to Los Angeles and invited him to audition. He landed the lead role in Slumber Party Slaughter, an independent horror film, as a result of that meeting.
Lepley reluctantly followed his agent’s advice and enrolled in acting classes, and he soon made his acting debut in an episode of The CW’s 90210.
After a lengthy casting process, he landed the role of Benny on Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots in 2013.
Perry arrived at the audition dressed as his famous Madea character, which surprised Lepley because he was filming a movie at the time.
Lepley also appeared in Paula Patton’s 2013 comedy Baggage Claim.
Lepley landed the lead role of Jaxon in the made-for-TV film Ringside, directed by Russ Parr and produced by Swirl Films. The film premiered on TV One in September 2016.
His co-stars included Tequan Richmond from Everybody Hates Chris and R&B singer Sevyn Streeter. Lepley was cast as a series regular in the Starz drama P-Valley in 2019. He was cast in the Harlem Tracy Oliver Amazon comedy series in 2020.
