Early Life and Education
Kelechi professionally known as Tekno, hails from Ivo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, but he was born in Bauchi State into a family of six, five boys and one girl and he was raised in several parts of Nigeria, including Nassarawa, Kaduna, and Abuja, because his father was a member of the Nigerian Army.
Tekno Miles enrolled in a music school at the age of 8 where he learned and mastered the rudiments of playing the piano and guitar, which paved the way for him to become a record producer, making beats for popular Nigerian musical artists.
He is the elder brother to Starboy label act Spotless, who is craving to get to the top and make it big in the industry. Tekno had his primary and secondary education, although he is not a graduate yet as the singer is only focusing on his music career.
Career
Tekno Miles was first signed under K-Money Entertainment, where he released his first single, “Holiday.” with featured vocals from Davido, and the song was positively received and gained massive airplay, making him a star to watch out for in the industry.
Tekno Miles was spotted by renowned Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu at an event in Abuja in 2012, after Tekno Miles received a standing ovation following the performance of a song titled “Onye Ne Kwu,” his remix of Ice Prince’s “Oleku.”
He met Iyanya and Ubi Franklyn at the event, and they became friends. Ubi and Iyanya encouraged Tekno Miles to move to Lagos to further his music career, and he was signed to Made Men Music Group (MMMG) on October 5, 2013.
Under the label, Tekno released singles like “Dance” and “Anything,” which earned him a nomination in the “Best New Act of the Year” category at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
