Speed Darlington was born in Okigwe, in Imo State, to the family of Mr. Pericoma Okoye and Queen Theresa Onuorah. He grew up in Imo State before moving over to the United States, where he has established himself.
Speed began his career as a dancer in the 1990s at Queen Achakpo and entered the music industry in 2017. More than likely, he did stop dancing and pursue a career in music.
His mother and father, Queen Theresa Onuorah and Pericoma Okoye, though never married, are both musicians. Given that they are both in their prime, it is reasonable to assume that Darlington’s parents influenced his career choices.
Speed Darlington became popular on social media in 2016 after a couple of his music videos went viral. From calling himself “energy god,” “Scorpio king,” and “irregular speedometer” to associating himself with phrases like “I am not regular,” and “inspiring Diddy since 2017,” Speed has proven he is not easily fazed.
In 2017, one of his most popular songs, “Bang da Dadang,” was released. Despite the backlash from some members of the public, he remains optimistic about his path to stardom. He constantly refers to himself as an international rapper, always ready to spit freestyles and never hesitating to ask for help or express what he desires.
Speed’s controversial style has not vanished from the political sphere. From the satirical post in which he called out dogs bearing the names of allegedly corrupt Nigerian leaders on one of his Instagram rants, he appears to be a man of the people.
He has even expressed his views on IPOB in a post in which he posted a picture with the caption “Buhari is dead! God be praised!!” and accompanied it with the caption: “I’m overjoyed! If I can’t be Biafra’s first president, I don’t want it.”
Darlington is anything but ordinary. He is rarely pressed to follow fashion or beauty trends. He has a distinct style that he consistently flaunts. Perhaps most notable is his distinct hairstyle, which he has confirmed to be a “transmitter and receiver of energy.”
His popularity stems from a heated Twitter feud with Vic O. Since then, his popularity has grown as a result of an explosive Twitter feud with Vic O. He has also fought Princess Vitarah, Bobrisky, Don Jazzy, and Wizkid.
He is also very good at cursing out event organizers who con him or refuse to give him credit. Perhaps the most explosive is the one against the organizers of One Africa Fest for not recognizing him as the “King of New York City.”
Speed Darlington is a popular Nigerian rapper and singer whose net worth is estimated to be around $200,000.

When it comes to love, Speed is not afraid to express his preferences. He also does not pursue women or spend money to get their attention because he believes his partner already has more than enough to offer. He has a huge crush on Tonto Dikeh, he claims.
Speed revealed in 2017 that he is the son of the late folk singer, Chief Pericoma Mezuo Okoye, who passed away on February 16th, 2017. He also expressed his contempt for the father, whom he claimed murdered those who offended him.
“I despised him and miss him in a roundabout way now that he’s gone. I now have to pay to punish people. If he was around, what if a girl said no to me or someone crossed me? I simply called him and cried on the phone, and he took care of the rest “he said.
