Mallam Nuhu Ribadu mni, born November 21, 1960, is a renowned Nigerian politician and former Nigerian police officer. He was a former anti-corruption official for the Nigerian government and the chairman of the Petroleum Revenue Task Force. He served as the first Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), a government agency in Nigeria entrusted with battling fraud and corruption.
Early Life and Education
From 1980 to 1983, Ribadu pursued legal studies at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State, earning a Bachelor of Laws degree. In 1984, after spending a year at the Nigerian Law School, he was admitted to the bar. He also obtained his Master of Laws from the same college. He is a Senior Fellow at St. Antony’s College and a TED Fellow at the University of Oxford in the UK.

The World Bank’s 2008 Jit Gill Memorial Award for Outstanding Public Service was given to Nuhu Ribadu on April 15 in recognition of his leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria during a valiant anti-corruption campaign.
Mr. Ribadu was demoted from Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) to Deputy Commissioner of Police on August 4, 2008, according to the Police Service Commission of Nigeria.
A few weeks before his 2007 term as president came to a close, former President Olusegun Obasanjo elevated Ribadu to the position of AIG.
His graduation at the NIPSS Kuru, Plateau State, was abruptly postponed on November 22, 2008.
