Moet Abebe was raised in the UK and completed her elementary education at Corona Ikoyi Primary School before beginning a year of secondary education at Dowen College.
Moet Abebe is originally from an Ishan-speaking tribe in Edo State, Nigeria. She was linked to the late former first lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Stella Obasanjo, through her parents, Dr. and Dr. (Mrs.) Abebe.
