Joseph Momodu was born into the royal family of Oba Momodu II from Etsako-West, Edo State. He spent his early years in a Muslim household and was initially named Abubakar Sadiq Momodu.
In 1999, following his father’s conversion to Christianity, he also embraced the Christian faith and adopted the name Joseph Momodu.
He was raised mainly in Surulere, Lagos, attending several schools there before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Delta State University in Abraka.
