Early Life and Education
Dabo, born in Lagos state in south-western Nigeria, predominantly inhabited by the Yoruba-speaking people, is originally from Owo, a small town in Ondo State.
His formal education, spanning from elementary to college, took place in Nigeria. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Lagos before pursuing a Master’s Degree in Mass Media in the United States at Columbia State University.
Jibola Dabo began his acting journey at the age of 6, participating in stage dramas at school. His official entry into Nollywood, the Nigerian movie industry, occurred in 2006.
A pivotal moment in Dabo’s career came with the 2009 film “Dirty Secrets”, considered one of Nollywood’s most provocative movies that year. In this project, he collaborated with Tonto Dikeh and the late Nollywood actor Muna Obiekwe.
