Early Life and Education
Dante Bowe was born in the North Carolina, where he grew up in a Christian neighborhood. His grandparents were pastors of the Christian faith.
Bowe credited his parents with fostering his enjoyment of music, and after taking part in a talent show in the seventh grade, he began to fall in love with singing.
Bowe’s parents divorced when he was eleven years old, and when he was twelve, he learned that they supported their family by dealing drugs.
When Bowe was sixteen years old, his mother also turned to Christianity, and his parents quit distributing narcotics about the same time.
In addition, Bowe credits Kierra Sheard’s music for bringing about his spiritual enlightenment when he was sixteen; he claims that the album Free (2011) transformed his life.
Bowe left high school and decided to devote his life to ministry, working as a worship leader for Eddie James Ministries.
In June 2019, Dante Bowe signed with Bethel Music. With the single “Champion,” which was included on the album Revival’s in the Air, he made his debut with Bethel in 2020.
Three stand-alone singles, including “Don’t Talk About It” with Jesse Cline, “Be Alright” with Amanda Lindsey Cook, and “Voice of God” with Steffany Gretzinger and Chandler Moore, were released after this. His second studio album, Circles, which featured the number-one single “Joyful,” was released in 2021.
At the 2021 GMA Dove Awards, “Joyful” took up the GMA Dove Award for Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year. On the American Top Gospel Albums chart, Circles debuted at No. 7 there.
Additionally, Bowe participated in a number of joint projects, most notably the song “Wait on You,” which he co-wrote with Elevation Worship, Maverick City Music, and Chandler Moore.
At the 2022 Grammy Awards, Bowe received five nominations. He ultimately won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for his work on Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music’s Old Church Basement (2021).
Maverick City Music declared on their Instagram account on September 26, 2022, that they have halted their collaboration with Dante Bowe due to behavioral issues.
