Early Life and Education
Born in London in 1998, Central Cee grew up amidst a mix of cultures. His parents, of Irish, Chinese, and Guyanese backgrounds, separated when he was young, and he lived with his mother and two brothers.
He loved music right from his childhood with genre ranging from American hip-hop to reggae and dancehall. In school, he kept mostly to himself, sometimes struggling with his temper.
Central Cee is two years ahead of his friend Rapper Digga D and they both attended the same school. By 16, Central Cee decided to leave school and pursue his passion for music full-time.
Central Cee started rapping in 2014 and released his first song in 2015. He gained early recognition through collaborations with big names like AJ Tracey and Dave.
In 2020, he switched to a UK drill style and launched to viral fame with hit singles like “Day in the Life” and “Loading.” His debut mixtape “Wild West” debuted at #2 on the UK charts and solidified his success.
