Early Life and Education
Ali was born on January 1, 1992, in Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State. He grew up in Unguwa Uku, where he attended Unguwa Uku Special Primary School (1999–2005), then Government Junior Secondary School Unguwa Uku (2005–2008), and finally Government Senior Secondary School, Kundila, for his senior secondary education.
After secondary school, he gained admission to Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, to study English and Hausa. But financial challenges forced him to drop out in his first year (NCE II). Ali’s break came through mentorship. During a rough patch after dropping out of school, he met Aminu Mu’azu (Aminu Bacci), a film editor who taught him the craft and pushed him to believe in himself. That guidance became the foundation for everything that followed.
From there, he quickly rose through the ranks, working with some of Kannywood’s biggest names. He’s edited films for directors like Aminu Saira, Ali Gumzak, and Kamal S. Alqali, and collaborated with producers such as Abba Miko Yakasai and Usman Mu’azu. His editing credits also include movies starring top actors like Ali Nuhu, Adam A. Zango, and Sadiq Sani Sadiq.

He’s said he preferred it that way, wanting something intimate rather than a big industry spectacle.
