Early Life and Education
Alexandra Patricia Morgan Carrasco was born on July 2, 1989, in San Dimas, California, to Michael T. Morgan and Pamela S. Morgan. She grew up in Diamond Bar with her two older sisters, Jeni and Jeri.
She was a multisport athlete in her childhood, attending “Diamond Bar High School,” where she demonstrated speed and sprinting potential and was named to the All-League Team three times. She was named an All-American by the ‘National Soccer Coaches Association of America.’
She made her club soccer debut at the age of 14 when she joined “Cypress Elite.’ She was a member of the club team that won the Coast Soccer League Under-16 championship and finished third in the club team’s Under-19 division.
She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, one semester early with a degree in Political Economy. She played for the ‘California Golden Bears’ from 2007 to 2010.
She became the first Californian player to be named one of the top three finalists for the ‘Hermann Trophy’ during her junior year.

Junior Career
She made her international debut at the 2008 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship in Puebla, Mexico, scoring her first international goal against Cuba.
She competed in the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where her fourth goal not only helped the US team win the tournament, but it was also named the tournament’s best goal and, as a result, the year’s second best for ‘FIFA.’ She finished the tournament as the third highest scorer and second best player, earning her a Bronze Shoe and a Silver Ball.
Senior Career
Her debut as a senior national team player came in March 2010, when she came on as a substitute against Mexico. Her first international goal came as a substitute against China in October of that year.
In November 2010, she scored the most important goal of her career against Italy in a crucial game, helping the US team qualify for the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
On January 14, 2011, the ‘Western New York Flash’ drafted her first in the 2011 WPS Draft. She scored four goals in 14 games for the club that season. The club won both the WPS Championship and the regular season that year.
Morgan became the youngest US player at the age of 22 during the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the team finished second and won silver. Her first goal in the tournament came against France in the semi-final match on July 13.
