Early Life and Education
Abbas was born on October 1, 1963 in Kaduna State, Nigeria, at Kwarbai, Zaria. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria with both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Later on, at Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, he earned a doctorate in business administration.
Career
Tajudeen Abbas started out teaching in elementary schools. Later on, he started teaching at a polytechnic. From 1993 to 2001, he lectured at Kaduna State University.
He transitioned to the private sector and took a position as marketing manager at the British-American Tobacco Company, formerly the Nigerian Tobacco Distribution Company.
He entered politics in 2010, running for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2011 and winning. Abbas is a prince with the title of Iyan Zazzau from the Zazzau Emirates in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Abbas entered politics in 2010, and in 2011 he was elected to the House of Representatives. Between 2015 and 2019, he sponsored the most bills in the 8th assembly, and between 2019 and 2023, he sponsored a record-breaking 74 measures, of which 21 were passed into law.
He had previously served on a number of House committees, including the National Planning and Economic Development Committee and the Committee on Special Duties, Defense, and Public Procurement.
Abbas served as the chairman of the House Committee on Land Transportation prior to being elected Speaker.
