Sisanda Henna was born on 18 March 1982 in Bhisho, Eastern Cape, South Africa. He was raised in a Xhosa-speaking family that valued storytelling and culture.
He later completed a master-level course in story and script editing funded by the South African National Film & Video Foundation (NFVF) and also finished the NFVF’s International Financing Programme, which focused on cross-border film financing.
