Emily Cinnamon Alvarez, Ma Ener Alvarez, and Mara Fernanda Alvarez are his siblings. His nationality is Mexican. We do know he was born sometime in 2018, even if his exact birth date is unknown.

Canelo Álvarez got into boxing after seeing his brother make his professional debut when he was just 13 years old. He was the champion in the 2004 Sinaloa Junior Mexican National Championships.
The silver medal was his. The father of Saul Adiel Lvarez won the 2005 Junior Mexican National Boxing Championship in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, when he was just 15 years old.
He rapidly faced and defeated 11 of his 13 recorded opponents, all of whom were older than he was. He defeated Mexican professional boxer Miguel Vázquez, an IBF lightweight, on January 20, 2006, in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
In the undercard of Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Shane Mosley, he defeated José Cotto to retain his WBC-NABF welterweight title.
He swiftly won the WBC Silver Light Middleweight Title by technical knockout in the sixth round over Luciano Leonel Cuello at the Vicente Fernández Arena (TKO).
