Ladipo Eso, also known as Ladipoe or Poe, is a Nigerian Rapper and afropop artist. Ladipoe is signed to Don Jazzy‘s Mavin Records. He rose to prominence with the song “Feel Alright,” on which SDC “Show Dem Camp” featured him.
In March 2019, he released a new single called “Jaiye” before releasing the hit song “Know You,” which featured Nigerian Joromi singer Simi The hit song “You Know” topped the chart in Apple music and had over 5 million streams on Youtube. He also belongs to the Nigerian super group Collectiv3.
With the hit single “Adore her,” the Lagos-born artist became a breakout star. Little Brother, Slum Village, and Lupe are among his musical influences.

Early Life, Childhood and Education
Mr. and Mrs. Eso gave birth to Ladipoe on April 29th, 1992. He was raised in Lagos and completed his primary and secondary education before attending the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he majored in Biology and Chemistry. It was there that he became interested in music and co-founded the band Lyrically Equipped with his friends Jeffrey and Kurt.
Ladipoe’s mother introduced him to Tec, a member of the ShowDemCamp group (SDC). In 2013, he was nominated for Best Alternative Song of the Year at The Headies for his lyrical prowess in the SDC’s hit song “Feel Alright.”
Poe was signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records alongside Korede Bello and Reekado Banks on February 28, 2017. He was one of the first artists signed to the Record Label following its rebranding from Mo’Hits in 2012.
This signing was a watershed moment in Ladipos’ career. He was the record label’s first rapper signing. Under the record label, he recorded his first single “Man Already,” which was produced by Altims.
In March 2019, he released another single, “Jaiye.”
His distinct rapping abilities set him apart from the rest of the African music scene, landing him opportunities to work with top names in the African music industry such as Ice Prince, Reminisce, Juls, Ikon, and Spax, Seyi Shay, Niyola, Johnny Drille, and Simi.
In October 2018, he released his debut album, “Talk About Poe (T.A.P),” on the Mavin Record label. During an interview with PulseNG, Ladipoe stated that he did not enjoy the album as much as others did.

Ladipoe Awards and Nominations
His video “Jaiye” was nominated for Best Music Video at the 2019 Headies. The song “Marry Me” by Falz and Ladipoe won the 2015 Nigerian Entertainment Award for Best Collaboration.

Ladipoe lives in one of the city’s affluent neighborhoods and owns a fleet of exotic cars. Ladipoe is one of the Judges of Hennessy vs. Class of 2022 and has been traveling around the country interviewing talent for the show. As a judge in the competition, he takes advantage of the opportunity to mentor aspiring rappers and assist them in achieving success in the industry.
Fans were taken aback when Ladipoe announced his fatherhood in a video released in August 2021. He is yet to reveal who his baby mama is since he is not known to be married.
