Early Life and Education
Glory Ogbonna was born into an Igbo family, in the Southeast region of Nigeria. She grew up with her parents and siblings.
She started and completed both her primary and secondary school while she continues to play football.
Career
On 16 July 2021, while in Austria with the rest of the Nigerian Super Falcons in camp for Aisha Buhari’s invitational tournament, Glory Ogbonna, a talented left-back, was announced as the new player for Umeå IK, a professional association football club based in Umeå, Sweden.
Umeå IK competes in Elitettan, the second tier of women’s football in Sweden, and Glory joined the club until the end of the 2022 season.
Following her time in Sweden, she made a move to Turkey and signed with ALG Spor, a Gaziantep-based league champion club, on 13 August 2022.
On 18 August 2022, she made her debut in the 2022–23 UEFA Women’s Champions League representing ALG Spor.
On 3 February 2023, Glory Ogbonna’s journey continued as she transferred to Beşiktaş JK, where she currently plays.
Glory is a versatile player, showcasing her skills as a left-back but also excelling in positions like right-back, left-centre back, right-centre back, and defensive midfielder.
