Early Life and Education
Folake was born in the Nigerian city of Lagos in 1974. She spent some of her life in Europe.
She received a masters degree in petroleum law after her schooling in Switzerland and the United Kingdom and returned to Nigeria to pursue her fashion interests.
Career
Tiffany Amber, her fashion label, debuted in Lagos in 1998. In Lagos and Abuja, the brand operates four standalone stores and boutiques.
She has put on fashion presentations in Africa, Europe, and the United States.
She made history in 2008 when she became the first African-based fashion designer to show twice at New York Fashion Week.
She won “Designer of the Year” for the first time at the African Fashion Week in Johannesburg in 2009, and “Fashion Brand of the Year” at the ARISE Magazine Fashion Week in 2011.
She was named on Forbes’ Power Women list in 2013 and got an Enterprise Award at the 2013 Women, Inspiration, and Enterprise (WIE) Symposium.
