Esther Okoronkwo was born on March 27, 1997, in Abia State before she relocated with her family to Richmond, Texas, United States where she grew up.
She began her primary education in the United States and fell in love with playing football as her extra curricular activity.

On 10 June 2021, Esther Okoronkwo earned her first senior cap for Nigeria, coming on as a 43rd-minute substitute in a 0–1 friendly loss to Jamaica.
Then, on 23 February 2022, she scored her debut goal against Ivory Coast in a 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualification match in Ivory Coast.
The goal, which came from a pass by Michelle Alozie, secured Nigeria a 1-0 away victory over Ivory Coast and ensured their qualification for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-0 aggregate scoreline.
