Damon Rogers Johnson, born July 13, 1964, professionally known as Damon Johnson, is an American guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and a member of Thin Lizzy. He co-founded Brother Cane in the 1990s before he later joined Alice Cooper’s band as a lead guitarist.

Early Life and Education
Damon Johnson was born and raised in Macon, Georgia, United States. He spent his elementary school years residing in Monroeville, Alabama.
In the eighth grade, he met Pat Buskill, Mac Baker, Allen Nettles, and Troy Dobbins, with whom he later founded Renegade, the first garage band he ever played in.
Later, he and his family relocated to Geraldine, Alabama, where he completed his high school education while continuing to play in a number of bands in the northeast Alabama region.
For three years, he entertained enormous crowds in Pat Upton’s Guntersville tavern, P.J.’s Alley, with the band Headline.
Career
Johnson moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1987 as a result of an invitation to join Split the Dark, an established band with a frontman who was a former member of the power-pop group Hotel.
The band Split the Dark, which won the 1986 MTV “Basement Tapes” competition but was unable to land a record deal, was a particularly well-liked act on the Southeast US college club circuit.
Later, as the guitarist for the Atlanta, Georgia band Witness and the Memphis, Tennessee band Delta Rebels, he would experience “bands with record deals” for the first time.
He also played during this time with the bands Chyld and Chinatown (with Eric Dover).
In 2004, Damon Johnson was chosen to join Alice Cooper’s band. He co-wrote and co-recorded the songs for Alice Cooper’s album Dirty Diamonds.
From 2004 to 2007, he toured with the group before quitting to devote himself to his new band, Whiskey Falls.
In the summer of 2009, Johnson rejoined the Alice Cooper Band, and Cooper included him on his 2010 live show DVD and CD, Theatre of Death – Live at Hammersmith.
In 2011, Johnson completed his fifth tour with Alice Cooper before leaving the group in September to join Thin Lizzy as a full-fledged member.
Cooper is also recognized with playing a significant role in Johnson’s favored game of golf, as the two played countless rounds of golf together while touring the globe for years.
