Samuel Animashaun Perry, born July 6, 1993, better known in the entertainment scene as Broda Shaggi, is a Nigerian comedian, musician, and actor. Shaggi was born in Ikene in Ogun State, though he is a native of Ishagamu in Ogun State.

Early Life and Education
Broda Shaggi was born on July 6, 1993, in Ikenne, Ogun State, Nigeria. He was born into a family of four boys and no girls, of which he is the first child.
While his father was still alive, he started his primary education at Mayflower Junior School in Ikene, Ogun State.
Due to the death of his father, he could not continue schooling there, and so was enrolled in another school, Heritage Primary School which his mother could afford the fees. However, he relocated to Lagos State, where he grew up.
Shaggi’s father was a teacher at Mayflower Junior School in Ikene, Ogun State, where he taught theatre, dance, and music. Interestingly, the influence of his father made Shaggy take an interest in acting.
Shaggi has always been multi-talented in the areas of art right from childhood, as he would teach and lead his classmates in cultural dance in school, as well as act in church dramas as a kid, and was also good at drawing.
During his secondary school years at Birrel Avenue Senior High School, he represented his school in a drawing competition that had up to 36 schools in Lagos competing, He got the first position and won a cash prize of N100,000.
Though he won 100,000 Naira at the drawing competition, Shaggy couldn’t find level ground for a career in drawing; instead, he engaged himself more in acting.
Shaggi got enrolled in the University of Lagos, where he studied Creative Arts, and in 2016, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Arts.
Career
The Ogun State born comedian started doing comedy while in the university. He decided to run the agbero-style kind of comedy since the gentleman style was not productive.
He started his comedy through stage plays while in the University with the stage name, Inspector Perry. He has also made use of stage names like Akani Ibadan and Lecturer Dele before settling for the name, Broda Shaggi.
He came to limelight after he started putting up lots of comedy skits on Instagram and other social media platforms, one of the most famous being the comic video “Jesus in Mushin,” and the video spread like a virus across the Nigerian internet space.
