Early Life and Education
Dimbo was born in Nasarawa State and grew up in Jos, Plateau State. His mother, an English Language graduate who had appeared in local NTA productions, sparked his early fascination with storytelling.
After high school, he attended the Nigerian Institute of Journalism in Jos, where a radio production class ignited his creative passion. He later studied at the National Film Institute in Jos and, in 2012, took film production and directing courses at the New York Film Academy in New York and California.
Career
Dimbo’s professional journey began in 2008 when he took over production of Naija Diamonds, a talk show for Mo Abudu. That same year, he earned a scholarship to attend the British Council’s Creative Lives programme at Lagos Business School, where he met his future wife, Karachi.
As CEO of Innovative Television Kontents (ITK), he built an impressive portfolio focused on clean, family-friendly content.
His notable works include Sons of the Caliphate, a two-season political drama set in Northern Nigeria; Halita, a 240-episode series that won the 2022 AMVCA Best Original Drama Series award; Still Falling (2021); The Plan (2023); and several other productions like The Rishantes, Drawing Strength, Dala Dala, and Nawa Nawa.
