Early Life and Education
Actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand welcomed Angelina Jolie Voight into the world at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, on June 4, 1975.
She is the sister of the actor James Haven and the niece of the scientist and volcanologist Barry Voight and the singer-songwriter Chip Taylor.
Maximilian Schell and Jacqueline Bisset, both actors, are her godparents. Jolie’s mother was of French-Canadian origin, while her father is of German and Slovak descent. Jolie has stated that she is partially Indigenous (Iroquois).
