Early Life and Education
Victor Nkindi was born on January 13, 1979, in Beijing, China, where he lived until 1988. During his childhood, he attended the Lycée Français International Charles de Gaulle de Pékin.
His father, Jean Berchmans Nteziryayo, was a diplomat and served as a member of the Rwandan Parliament until his death in January 1989.
His mother, Quitterie Mukankusi, was a member of the Transitional National Assembly of Rwanda from December 1994 until her death in January 2002. Both parents passed away in Nairobi and are interred in Gicumbi District, Rwanda. Victor is the third of five siblings.
He completed his secondary education at École Francophone Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and APE Rugunga Secondary School in Rwanda.

Career

In 2005, while residing in France, Nkindi began developing his communication and management skills to prepare for a return to Rwanda’s broadcasting industry.
He joined Contact FM as a program manager in 2006 and was promoted to station manager by April 2007, holding that position until June 2012.
In July 2012, he partnered with Net Solutions, a Rwandan technology firm recognized for its innovative mobile services such as Call Ringback tones and mobile voting platforms. Nkindi worked with Net Solutions until December 2015.
He established Hooza Ltd (Hooza Media) in August 2012, a digital media company that operates in 17 African countries and Haiti.
In 2015, Nkindi graduated from the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur Program (TEEP), and through his company Hooza, he received $5,000 in seed funding.
Hooza Media is known for its mobile solutions that improve citizen engagement and provide access to information without needing internet connectivity. Their technology was instrumental during the 2017 Rwandan presidential elections.
