Early Life and Education
Trippie Redd has a younger brother known by the name “Hippie Redd” and an older brother known as “Dirty Redd” who was also a musician.
In 2014, a car accident claimed the life of Dirty Redd. He spoke to Rolling Stone about the aftermath of the tragic incident.
Trippie Redd was born and raised in Canton, Ohio, but he frequently relocated to Columbus. While growing up, his mother played songs by Ashanti, Beyoncé, Tupac, and Nas, which sparked his interest in music.
T-Pain, Kiss, Nirvana, Gucci Mane, Fountains of Wayne, the Ataris, Green Day, the Offspring, Cute Is What We Aim For, Simple Plan, the Summer Set, Hit the Lights, Marilyn Manson, and Lil Wayne were among the musicians he later listened to.

In late May Trippie Redd was detained in Cobb County, Georgia, for assaulting the rapper FDM Grady. Grady claims that when Trippie Redd and the rapper Lil Wop made fun of Grady’s fiancée, Grady drew his gun briefly before fighting with Trippie Redd.
Grady was then attacked by four guys, including Wop and Trippie. Charges of affray (public fighting), criminal trespass, and simple violence led to Trippie Redd’s detention.
He was again detained in Georgia on an assault accusation for allegedly pistol-whipping a woman a few weeks later, in early June.
