Temitope Aina Oshin, born June 10, 1979, better known as Tope Oshin is a Nigerian television and film director, producer, consultant, and casting director. She is also the CEO and founder of Sunbow Productions. Pulse magazine named her one of the “9 Nigerian female movie directors you should know” in 2015.

Early Life and Education
Tope was born in Lagos State, Nigeria, on June 10, 1979. As a child, she enjoyed singing, dancing, and painting, and she aspired to be an artist.
For secondary school, she attended the Girls’ High School in Agege, Lagos, and Iganmode Grammar School in Ota, Ogun State.
She began studying economics at the University of Ilorin in Kwara State, but dropped out to pursue public administration at the University of Lagos, and later at the School of Theatre Arts, TV, and Film Production at Lagos State University.
After receiving her B.A., she attended Itpan Training School in Gbagada, Lagos, for a brief training in acting techniques and the visual and performing arts.
Career
In 2005, she began working as an actor for R & M Media. She began her career as an assistant director at 341 Media in 2007, but left the following year to join Ark Resources Entertainment.
She left Ark Resources in 2008 to work for Storm Media Group as an associate producer/assistant director.
Tope Oshin began his career as a producer with Inspire Africa Productions in 2009. She joined M-Net in 2010, where she worked as a Box and Content Producer/Director until 2013, when she joined EbonyLifeTv.
She began her career at EbonyLifeTV as the Acting Head of Drama before being promoted to Project Manager/Supervising Producer.
Tope worked as an actor for 12 years before transitioning to directing, appearing in films such as Relentless (2010) and serving as an assistant director on The Apprentice Africa.
She has since gained fame for directing popular African TV dramas and soap operas such as Hush, Hotel Majestic, Tinsel, and MTV Shuga.
Despite her work on a number of contemplative short films, including The Young Smoker, Till Death Do Us Part, New Horizons, and Ireti, she is best known for her 2018 feature film releases, Up North (film), and New Money, both of which were huge box office successes.
Tope presented the BBC documentary Nigeria-Shooting It Like A Woman in 2017 as a follow-up to her documentary and as part of the BBC 100 Women season to honour the new generation of female filmmakers who are reinventing Nollywood.
Apart from the BBC World Service, a lot of other TV programmes and books, such as Niran Adedokun’s book Ladies Calling the Shots, were also impacted by Tope’s Amaka’s Kin-The Women Of Nollywood documentary.
Tope also works as a casting director, which he enjoys. She has appeared in numerous film and television productions, including all three seasons of the Nigerian drama series Shuga, which is produced by the MTV Staying Alive Foundation.
Tope was hired by MTV Shuga (TV Series), then known as MTV Shuga Naija 4, to produce Season 8 after overseeing and casting Season 6 of the show in 2017. Tope is the TV show’s Head Director, Showrunner, Executive Producer, and Producer. Tope served on the International Emmy Awards jury for the first time in 2015.
