Sophie Alakija was born into an Islamic family on February 7, 1994. She was born in Lagos and spent her childhood in Lagos.
Her mother is a Nigerian from the Efik tribe of Calabar in Cross River State and her father is a Lebanese.
Sophie has three siblings who are also well-known. Her eldest sister rose to prominence after facing allegations of adultery and bearing the child of controversial actor and politician Desmond Elliot.

Sophie was born with an innate passion for acting and entertainment, and she has appeared in many films, including Drawing strands, which was her most difficult shoot because she was pregnant and traveling a lot at the time.
She made her acting debut in 2016 after meeting actor Desmond Elliot at an event and telling him about her desire to act. With Elliott’s encouragement, she landed a major role in 2017, The Silver Spoon, after her first two auditions.
