Early Life and Education
Sheebah grew up in Kawempe, a suburb of Kampala, Uganda, raised by her single mother, Edith Kabazungu. Sheebah attended Kawempe Muslim Primary School but left Midland High School during her second year of senior high.
At just 15 years old, she started earning money through dancing, initially joining the Stingers dance group before moving to Obsessions Music Group in 2006. It was during her time with Obsessions that she developed a passion for music, recording two songs before launching her solo career.
Career
Sheebah’s solo music journey began in 2010 with the release of her single “Kunyenyenza.” She rose to prominence with her hit track “Ice Cream,” which was part of her debut EP released in 2014. This EP marked the start of her successful career, earning her multiple HiPipo Music Awards for Best Female Artist from 2015 through 2024.
She also clinched the Artist of the Year title in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at the same awards. Beyond music, Sheebah ventured into acting, playing the role of Shakira in the film Queen of Katwe.
In 2024, she was appointed vice president of the Uganda National Musician Federation, working alongside president Eddy Kenzo.
