Progress Chukwuyem is a Nigerian music author, singer, performer, and minister from Ika South, Delta State, Warri, Nigeria. Progress emerged the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 7 in 2022, whose finale was on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
The 21-year-old singer emerged the winner after polling more votes from the fans to beat fellow finalist Zadok in an electrifying and suspense-filled grand finale. The top-2 secured 45 million votes in the finale week alone against over 220 million total votes all season long.
He won the grand prizes, which were altogether worth 100 million Naira (cash prize of 30 million Naira, a brand-new SUV, a Bigi-branded refrigerator, and a year’s supply of Bigi drinks).

Some of the high points of the grand finale were when Simi, who was one of the judges for Nigerian Idol season 7, took the stage to sing her hit song, Duduke.

Early Life and Education
The singer and the songwriter was Born 21 years ago in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. Progress is from Ekwueze-Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State. He was raised in Warri in Delta State and had his Basic education in Delta State.

On February 2022, Progress auditioned for the Nigeria Idols Season 7 competition and got the golden ticket to participate in the competition after he impressed the judges with a well-knitted rendition of John Legend’s “All of Me”. Progress came with so much confidence, knowing he could win. He had asserted that he has all it takes to be a winner. This assertion wasn’t a fluke as he showed great efforts towards it.
