Popular Anambra native doctor Chidozie Nwangwu, known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, has been arrested by state security forces.
Nwangwu, famous for promoting a money ritual called “Oke Ite,” was apprehended in Oba and questioned by the Deputy Governor, who cited the Anambra Homeland Security Law and ordered further investigation.
This arrest comes nearly a year after Nwangwu was kidnapped and ransomed.
Human rights lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor has condemned the arrest as a violation of Nwangwu’s constitutional rights and is demanding his release.
