Early Life and Education
Olu Okeowo was born on May 15, 1965, to Pa Taiwo Victor Okeowo’s family. His mother worked as a full-time housewife while his father, a billionaire businessman, served as choirmaster at the Nigerian Methodist Church.
Olu Okeowo recounts that when he was a child, his parents were very strict and required him to spend a lot of time indoors after school.
He described his father as a staunch conservative who wished for all of his children to follow in his footsteps.
Okeowo completed his elementary and secondary education in Nigeria. After leaving the country, he traveled to Austria and briefly studied medical technology.
He then moved to the Caribbean to pursue his medical studies.

Olu Okeowo began working as a housekeeper at St Nicholas hospital in Lagos after his return to Nigeria in the late 1980s.
Olu Okeowo decided to start a business creating burglary proofs and iron-wrought furniture because the devaluation of the naira from one to eight to the dollar had an impact on various Nigerian enterprises, including his father’s.
He fully transitioned into construction and civil engineering around the turn of the decade and began constructing homes.
As a corporation dedicated to the development of infrastructure and real estate, Gibraltar Construction Nigeria Limited was founded.
Gibraltar Construction has developed into a nationwide construction juggernaut throughout the years, working on numerous projects.
The business specializes in building renovation, storage tank fabrication and construction, real estate sales, and leasing.
Over 1200 remarkable projects in 12 states of Nigeria have been finished by him. The opulent Parkview Estate in Ikoyi, which contains the Palacio de Okeowo residence where Okeowo resides, is one of the projects completed by Gibraltar Construction.
