Born in September 1976 in Lagos State, western Nigeria, Olu Maintain is originally from Ondo State in southwestern Nigeria. His parents, both medical practitioners, include a father who is a medical doctor and a mother who is a nurse.
Although he acquired a diploma certificate in accountancy from The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in 2001, Olu Maintain initiated his music career back in 1997.
