Early life and education
Niyola was born in Lagos State, Nigeria, on December 9, 1985.Although she was born and raised in Lagos, she is originally from Ilesa, Osun State.

Career
Her musical career began when she participated in the AMEN starlet competition and placed first runner-up. She subsequently met the “Plantashun boys,” who asked her to perform a duet with them; eventually, the group broke up, and she ended up recording a song with Faze. She had a brief time with Trybe Records before releasing her first tracks under Freestyle’s Make-Sum Noise Entertainment, including Me n U (in da club), ‘No more, and ‘Dem say.
After signing with Westside Music, she released her debut album, which included the singles “Bring it on” and “Call my name.” She was nominated for two Hip Hop World Awards that year. After making a career transition in 2012, Niyola signed a record deal with Empire Mates Entertainment. Released on May 22, 2013, her debut single for the label Toh Bad was a huge commercial hit that catapulted her into a new level of success in her solo career.
Her debut album was released the following year and received favourable reviews and several awards, including the City People Music Award for R&B Artist of the Year. She took part in the inaugural girl power Tetmosol project and in 2009, she took participated in the Ovation Red Carol theme song. In addition, Niyola composed the title song for 2Face Idibia’s second album concert in 2007 and wrote the soundtracks for Yoruba films such as Feyipitan and Ogidi Omo Abanidaro.
Her second album, Crazy, was released in 2013. In 2017, she released her third album, Belle No Be Showglass, which solidified her status as one of Nigeria’s most proficient musicians. In addition to her solo endeavours, Niyola has demonstrated her flexibility and collaborative skills by working with well-known Nigerian musicians like Skales, Banky W, Lynxxx, and Wizkid.
