Early Life and Education
Vicki Atkins and Craig Hamilton welcomed him into the world in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia, where he was raised in Alstonville. 2018 saw Nicholas’ graduation from Alstonville High School.
Joshua “JJ” Hamilton is his brother, and Rebecca Hamilton and Rachel Hamilton are his sisters. He says the death of his uncle from cancer in 2011 is what spurred him to pursue acting because “I knew I had to pursue it for him.”
He hesitantly accepted the role of Elvis in a grade five school play, but Hamilton claims he “truly enjoyed [the] whole process” of practicing. Then, he joined a nearby acting company.
Career
Liam Connor’s 2013 short film Time, which Hamilton starred in, brought him to the notice of the industry. He portrayed a little boy who imagined traveling through time.
The movie made it to the Tropfest Short Film Festival in 2013, where Hamilton took home the prize for Best Male Actor.
Catherine Poulton, an agency in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, became interested in him as a result. He debuted on the big screen in Mako: Isle of Secrets and appeared in a number of short films, including Jackrabbit and Letter to Annabelle.
Hamilton’s first role in a feature film was as Nicole Kidman and Joseph Fiennes’ son in the Australian drama-suspense thriller Strangerland.

During the Captain Fantastic filming in 2014, he joined WME and 3 Arts Entertainment. In addition to his most well-known role as Henry Bowers in IT, he played Lucas Hanson in the 2017 adaption of The Dark Tower.
He read the original book and communicated with Jarred Blancard, who played Bowers in the 1990 miniseries, to get ready for the part of Bowers.
Hamilton made an appearance in Season 2 of Love, Victor on Hulu in June 2021. He also played Trilby, a youngster who establishes an illicit esports gambling operation to pay off his father’s debts, in Action Royale, a Snapchat Original Series.
He will play Tod in Lionsgate’s Creepers, Stu in Amazon Freevee’s The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh, and Lance Lunar in Max Talisman’s Something Like This, it has been revealed.
He released his first single, “Different Year,” in January 2021. Afterwards, he released the singles “noRoom,” a collaboration between Hamilton and co-writer Savs, “In Line,” “Pretty Young,” and “Pretty Young,” the latter of which served as the title track for his debut EP of the same name in 2021.
