Early Life and Education
Nice was born on August 25, 1985, in Mombasa, Kenya, and spent her childhood in Makongeni. She was inspired by the communal atmosphere of open-air “sinema za kamero” movie nights.
Although she initially considered a career in law or international relations, her direction changed after a transformative encounter with a traveling theatre group during high school. This led her to David Kinyua of The Planets Theatre, and right after her high school exams, she began acting workshops at the Kenya National Theatre.

Nice Githinji launched her acting journey on stage with Phoenix Players, making her debut in Richard Stockwell’s Bad Blood. She quickly built a reputation for her range, taking on roles in productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Grease the Musical.
