Early Life and Education
Nafisa Abdullahi was born on January 23, 1991, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. Her father is Abdulrahman Abdullahi, a wealthy car dealer and elder statesman. She is the fourth daughter of her father.
Her family is from Kano, but they moved to Jos, where her father founded an automobile company.
Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdullahi and his first wife, Hajiya Zainab Abdullahi, gave birth to Nafisa Abdullahi. Both of her parents are late.
She comes from a wealthy Muslim family from the Hausa community. Nafisa Abdullahi has two older sisters and one older brother.
Her siblings’ names are Fatima Abdullahi, Muhammad Abdullahi, and Asma’u Abdullahi.
Nafisa went to Air Force Private School in Jos before transferring to Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse, in Abuja.
She also earned a degree in theatre arts from the University of Jos. She is currently a student at the London School of Photography, where she studies photography.
Career
Nafisa began her acting career at the age of 19. In 2010, she landed her first significant main role in the film “Sai Wata Rana,” which was produced by FKD Productions and directed by Ali Nuhu, a Kannywood legend.
In 2012, Nafisat Abdullahi appeared in “Blood and Henna“, a Nigerian film directed by Kenneth Gyang. She appeared alongside celebrities such as Ali Nuhu and Sadiq Sani Sadiq.
At the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards, the film received six nominations and won Best Costume Design. Lamiraj, another popular film starring Nafisat, was also a box office success.
Aminu Saira directed both Lamiraj and Ya Daga Allah, which earned the actress awards for “Best Actress” in 2013 and “Ya Daga Allah” in 2014.
