Gift Loveday Igbomgbo, professionally known as MC Aproko, is a Nigerian stand-up comedian, MC, actor, and singer who gained national recognition after winning the inaugural Next Naija Comedy Star in December 2020. He currently serves as the Special Assistant on Entertainment to the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, a position he has held since December 24, 2020.

Early Life and Education
MC Aproko was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, South-South Nigeria, but grew up in Nembe, Bayelsa State. He is a native of Bayelsa State, specifically from Ogbia/Nembe Local Government Area.
He is the second son and fifth child among seven siblings in a close-knit family. He attended Abia State University, where he reached 200 Level before leaving school in 2007 to pursue his comedy career full-time. His career initially started as a local gospel musician before transitioning to comedy in 2007–2008. He began performing comedy professionally in 2007, though he considers himself just starting after his major competition win.

MC Aproko’s comedy career spans over 15 years, with several major competition victories establishing his reputation. In 2008, he participated in the National Comedy Challenge by Opa Williams which marked his career breakthrough.
He won the Best Comedian in Bayelsa award at the Bayelsa Hall of Fame Awards in 2013. On December 2, 2017, he won Comedy Central Grab The Mic with Maltina at Eko Convention Centre, taking home ₦1.5 million. On May 6, 2018, he won the Ibile Comedy Challenge organized by the Lagos State Government at Eko Convention Centre, winning ₦1 million and a car.
On December 20, 2020, he won Next Naija Comedy Star organized by Ayo Makun (AY), taking home ₦5 million and a GAC SUV. On December 23, 2020, he was appointed Special Assistant on Entertainment to Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, a government position he still holds.
The Next Naija Comedy Star competition was particularly transformative. It ran for a month at The Grandeur, Lekki, Lagos, with judges Ali Baba, I Go Dye, and MC Shakara. MC Aproko stated before the competition he was just another good comedian, but afterward declared he can beat his chest that he is Aproko.
He is also known as the Ratel Movement Coordinator and performs regularly at churches and comedy events across Nigeria.
