Early Life and Education
Letitia Wright was born in Georgetown, Guyana. She is 29 years old as of August 2023. There is no detailed information about her parents online. She has one brother named Ivan Bombokka.
Letitia attended Northumberland Park Community School. In February 2023, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Arts and Letters from the University of Guyana. She also attended the Identity School of Acting, a part-time drama school in London.
Career
Growing up, Letitia was inspired by Keke Palmer’s performance in Akeelah and the Bee to become an actor. Her first acting role was in 2011 with guest appearances on the British television series Holby City and Top Boy. She made her film debut in 2012 with the drama My Brother the Devil.
A few years later, she starred in several British television miniseries, including Chasing Shadows (2014), Banana (2015), and Cucumber (2015). She starred as a troubled teenager in the film Urban Hymn (2015) and appeared in several episodes of the television series Humans (2016).
In 2018, Letitia also featured in a play called The Convert. The play tells the story of an English-speaking missionary in the 19th century, where the Africans were trained to speak Victorian English and engage in Christianity.

Letitia co-starred in the 2018 film Black Panther, playing the role of “Shuri”, King T’Challa’s sister and princess of Wakanda. The film also starred Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danai Gurira.
She returned as Shuri for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which depicts Shuri becoming the new Black Panther following the death of T’Challa. The film which was released in November 2022, was made in honor of Late American actor Chadwick Boseman, who died from colon cancer in 2020.
