Early Life and Education
LeBron James was born on December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio. He was cared for by his mother Marie James who struggled to find a good job.
When he was 9-years-old, the mother handed him to Frank Walker, a local youth football coach, who brought LeBron James into basketball.
LeBron James attended St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.
He started playing organized basketball for the Northeast Ohio Shooting Stars in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).
