Early Life And Education
Lawrence Harmon was born on January 2, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio, but he grew up in Cleveland.
He returned from the World War II which he served as a private in the army to become a doctor.
But he met entertainer AI Jolson, and the man change his mind to become a doctor of laughter.
According to Harmon’s autobiography, The Man Behind the Nose, Jolson told him, “Being a doctor of medicine is honorable, but you’ll touch so many more lives as a doctor of laughter!”
Lawrence Harmon attended the University of Southern California, and majored in theater and function in the Spirit of Troy marching band.
Career
After attending a casting call in the late 1940s, he began making the first of thousands of appearances as Bozo the Clown.
In the late 1950s, Lawrence Harmon had licensed local Bozo television shows in nearly every major U.S. market, and also other countries.
Also also produced aseries of Bozo animated cartoons and intended to performed with a life action show using Bozo’s voice as himself.
On New Year’s Day in 1996, Lawrence Harmon appeared in the Rose parade in Pasadena, California dressed as Bozo for the first time in ten years.
He wrote an autobiography titled The Man Behind the Nose: Assassins, Astronauts, Cannibals, and Other Stupendous Tales, published in 2010 by Igniter Books.

Angie Harmon rose to fame dramatically, first as a model and then as an actress after being discovered by David Hasselhoff.
Angie Harmon grew up following in the footsteps of her Parents Lawrence Paul Harmon and Daphne Demar who were once models.
On July 3, 2008, Harmon died of congestive heart failure in his home in Los Angeles, California.
He is buried in Mount Sinai Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
