Early Life and Education
Ladipoe was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Eso on April 29, 1992. He was raised in Lagos and completed his primary and secondary education before attending the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he majored in biology and chemistry.
It was there that he became interested in music and co-founded the band Lyrically Equipped with his friends Jeffrey and Kurt.
Career
Ladipoe’s mother introduced him to Tec, a member of the ShowDemCamp Group (SDC). In 2013, he was nominated for Best Alternative Song of the Year at The Headies for his lyrical prowess in the SDC’s hit song “Feel Alright.”
Ladipoe was signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records alongside Korede Bello and Reekado Banks on February 28, 2017. He was one of the first artists signed to the record label following its rebranding from Mo’Hits in 2012.
This signing was a watershed moment in Ladipos’ career. He was the record label’s first rapper to sign. Under the record label, he recorded his first single, “Man Already,” which was produced by Altims. In March 2019, he released another single, “Jaiye.”
His distinct rapping abilities set him apart from the rest of the African music scene, landing him opportunities to work with top names in the African music industry such as Ice Prince, Reminisce, Juls, Ikon, and Spax, Seyi Shay, Niyola, Johnny Drille, and Simi.
In October 2018, he released his debut album, “Talk About Poe (T.A.P),” on the Mavin Record label. During an interview with PulseNG, Ladipoe stated that he did not enjoy the album as much as others did.
