Early Life and Education
Born on January 28, 1993, Idris Sultan spent his formative years in Tanzania. He has noted that his mother is the biggest influence in his life and that he has no specific role model but instead tries to embody the best qualities of successful people he meets.
Career
Sultan hosted a comedy news show called Sio Habari and regularly hosts his own stand-up comedy shows. He also hosted a radio show called MwB (Mji wa Burudani) on ChoiceFM Tanzania in 2016.
Sultan is recognized as one of the most endorsed Tanzanian actors. He was the first Tanzanian actor to have a leading role in a film streaming on Netflix, titled Slay (2021).
Sultan also co-produced the film, Married to Work (2023), which became a leading film in East and West Africa. He also served as a special guest for Netflix in Africa for the Bridgerton Series Season 2 & 3 parties in South Africa in 2023.
Sultan was also selected to make a special appearance on the NBA extension in Africa at the BAL games in Rwanda and made a short documentary about tourism in Rwanda.
Sultan has hosted several TV shows, including the Tanzania Music Awards in 2024 and Bongo Star Search (BSS) in 2019, 2020, and 2024. He is the CEO of Loko Motions since 2020 and SULTAN – Tanzania- since December 2020.

In 2016, Idris Sultan publicly expressed his love for Wema Sepetu, Miss Tanzania 2006, though they later ended their relationship in late 2017. He also dated Maya Mia in 2018.
