Early Life and Education
Traoré grew up in Kéra, Bondokuy, where he attended primary school. He later completed secondary school in Bobo-Dioulasso.
In 2006, he enrolled at the University of Ouagadougou to study geology. While there, he became active in student organizations such as the Association of Muslim Students and the Marxist ANEB. Known for standing up for his peers, he graduated with honors in 2009.
Career
Traoré joined the Burkina Faso Army in 2009 after graduating from the Georges-Namoano Military Academy. He received anti-aircraft training in Morocco before serving in Kaya as part of an infantry unit.
Promoted to lieutenant in 2014, he joined MINUSMA peacekeeping forces in Mali and earned recognition for bravery during rebel attacks. Upon returning to Burkina Faso, he participated in counter-insurgency operations against jihadist groups and was promoted to captain in 2020.
