Early Life and Education
Hilary Duff was born on September 28, 1987 as Hilary Erhard Duff, in Houston, Texas, to Robert Erhard Duff and Susan Colleen (née Cobb). Robert was business-partner in convenience stores chain in Houston and San Antonio.
Susan was a homemaker turned film-music producer. Susan encouraged Hilary and her older sister, Haylie to study acting, singing, and take ballet classes.
The sisters started at local theatre productions. They joined touring San Antonio Ballet Met production of “The Nutcracker” and moved to California with Susan (1993).
