Early Life and Education
Doris Uzoka-Anite was born on October 16, 1973, in Oguta, Imo State, Nigeria. She completed her primary education at State Primary School in Festac Town, Lagos in 1984.
She finished secondary school at Ilupeju College, Lagos in 1989. She studied medicine at the University of Benin and graduated with an MBBS degree in March 1999. Later, she completed the Oxford Fintech Program and Oxford Algorithmic Trading Program in 2019.

Career

Doris Uzoka-Anite practiced as a medical doctor for about three years after graduating in 1999. In 2002, she switched to banking and joined Zenith Bank Plc. She started by heading Human Resources and Training at the bank. In 2011, she moved to the Treasury division where she worked on fixed income, currency trading, and asset management. She became Treasurer of Zenith Bank in 2017 and was promoted to General Manager in 2019.
In March 2021, she was appointed Commissioner for Finance and Coordinating Economy in Imo State by Governor Hope Uzodinma. She helped implement fiscal strategies that improved Imo State’s economy. In August 2023, she became Nigeria’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment under President Tinubu. She held this position until October 2024.
