Florence Ideology Otedola, born on November 11, 1992, better known as DJ Cuppy, grew up in Lagos before moving to London at 13 for high school. While attending boarding school, Cuppy’s parents gifted the precious teenager an iPod. She filled it with Nigerian music so she could always keep a part of home.
Cuppy is the daughter of Nigerian billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola who is an oil mogul and former Chairman of Forte Oil Plc. A philanthropist and a stylista, this pink-haired muso believes it’s important for young people to go on the wild side and step out of the cages of their comfort.
For her love of cupcakes, DJ Cuppy had to coin out her stage name from there.

Early Life and Education
Cuppy lived in Ilupeju for six years before moving to Ikeja where she attended Grange School, Ikeja. She then relocated to London at age 13 for her GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and A-Levels.
In 2014, Cuppy graduated with a degree in business and economics from King’s College London. She had already started Disk Jockeying as a teenager and built a reputation as one of the foremost DJs in Africa when, also in 2014, Cuppy was selected as a DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards.
Cuppy balanced the club and curricula effortlessly and earned a Music Business Masters Degree from New York University while undergoing internship at Jay-Z’s Roc Nation imprint in 2015.
As of October 2021, Cuppy enrolled in the University of Oxford and is pursuing a master’s degree in African Studies.
Career
DJ Cuppy’s career is in three segments. She is a singer, disk Jockey as well as a music producer.
She started Disk Jockeying while in college as a hobby but in 2014, she launched her Mixtape titled, House of Cuppy which featured afrobeats from artists like Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Kcee, Dr. Sid, Chidinma and so on. The mixtape was lauched in Lagos and thereafter in London in celebration of her graduation from college.

She started The Cuppy Foundation in 2018, and the Foundation’s Cuppy Gold Gala raised so much money to help displaced children across Nigeria.
DJ Cuppy has been involved in many relationships with well-known guys. In 2011, she dated Asa Asika, Davido’s manager.
Their relationship was full of ups and downs until 2018, when there was a controversy over whether Cuppy owned up to being the one who messed up.
Cuppy has also dated Nigerian and former Everton striker, Victor Anichebe. Their relationship lasted for a while but due to distance after Anichebe moved to China to ply his trade, She decided to call it quits and keep it at a friendly level.
She has also at one time dated the British-Nigerian former heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua. Currently, their relationship is on friendly terms. When Cuppy was asked if she would marry AJ, she obliged that she would love to if only AJ would agree to that as well.
