Early Life and Education
On March 21, 1994, the identical twins were born in Montclair, New Jersey. One sister and two brothers make up their group of five siblings, making them the youngest.
Both of their parents are foreign-born. Their father is from Haiti and had a moving business; their mother is from Jamaica and ran a daycare.
They moved to Dallas, Georgia when they were nine years old, describing their family as “hard-working, working class.”
When they were 14 years old, they started modeling. After winning a six-month program at an acting and modeling school, they worked as stand-ins for television shows including Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.
Career
Their aunt, a New York City-based fashion designer, inspired the twins’ passion in fashion. Despite receiving full college scholarships in Georgia, they claimed that “[they] didn’t have any other plan other than getting to New York City.”
Shannon studied fashion merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Shannade studied strategic design at the Parsons School of Design, and they both received bachelor’s degrees in 2016. Since then, they have moved to Los Angeles.
