Cameron Michelle Diaz (born August 30, 1972) is an American former actress and model. She was born in San Diego, California and was raised in Long Beach by a Cuban-American father and a German mother. While still in high school, she signed a modeling contract with Elite Model Management.

Early Life and Education
Cameron Michelle Diaz was born on August 30, 1972, in San Diego, California to Billie, an import/export agent, and Emilio Diaz, who was a foreman of the California oil company Unocal. Diaz was raised in Long Beach with her elder sister, Chimene.
The Blonde hair and Blue eyes pretty actress attended Los Cerritos Elementary School, and then Long Beach Polytechnic High School, where she was a schoolmate of Snoop Dogg and graduated in 1999.
As a member of that school’s dance-drill team, Cameron performed during half-time at football games. She recalled her upbringing as frugal.
Career
While still attending high school, Diaz signed a modeling contract with Elite Model Management at age 16. This was after she was discovered by a photographer at a Hollywood party who, within a week, helped her land the contract with the Elite Modeling Agency.
She appeared in advertisements for Calvin Klein and Levi’s. The following year, at age 17, she was featured on the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazine.
Diaz also modeled for 2 to 3 months in Australia and in 1991, she shot a commercial for Coca-Cola in Sydney.
In January 2002, Cameron she signed a $20 Million deal to do Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003) to become only the second actress to join the coveted $20 Million Club (after Julia Roberts).
At the age of 21, Diaz auditioned for The Mask playing a jazz singer named, Tina Carlyl based on the recommendation of an agent for Elite, who met the film’s producers while they were searching for the lead actress.
Having no previous acting experience, she started acting lessons after being cast. The Mask became one of the top ten highest-grossing films of 1994.

Personal Life
In 1998 after appearing in There’s Something About Mary, Diaz briefly dated her co-star Matt Dillon. The following year, she began a relationship with actor Jared Leto, which ended in 2003.
From 2003 to 2007, she dated singer Justin Timberlake. Diaz married musician Benji Madden at her home in Beverly Hills, California, on January 5, 2015, in a Jewish ceremony.
The couple had been introduced ten months earlier by her close friend Nicole Richie who is also married to Madden’s brother Joel Madden. In December 2019, the couple welcomed a daughter named Raddix through surrogate.
