Early Life and Education
Britanny Lincicome was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, on September 19, 1985. Her parents, Tom Lincicome and Angie Lincicome raised her in her hometown. Brittany Grace Lincicome is her given name.

Britanny has won eight (8) LPGA Tours and won two (2) Championships; Kraft Nabisco Championship (2009) and ANA Inspiration (2015).

Amateur Career
Lincicome grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, and has competed in over 100 amateur events. She won the American Junior Golf Association’s Chateu Elan in 2001 and 2003, as well as the Avilla Junior Classic in 2003. She won the Harder Hall Invitational in 2004.
As an amateur, Lincicome competed in the 2004 U.S. Women’s Open and the 2004 State Farm Classic on the LPGA Tour, leading the former after the first round.
Professional Career
Lincicome turned professional in December 2004 at the age of 19, after finishing 20th in the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn her 2005 tour card. She had graduated from high school the previous spring, having been home-schooled.
Her first win came at the 2006 HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship, where she beat Michelle Wie in the quarterfinals, Lorena Ochoa in the semifinals, and Juli Inkster in the final.
She won her second title at the Ginn Open in April 2007, again holding off Ochoa to win on the 72nd hole.
Lincicome was named to the United States Solheim Cup team for the first time in 2007. She was defeated by Laura Davies in singles play.
Years before, as a 12-year-old, Lincicome carried the scoring sign for Davies at the JCPenney Classic LPGA event, prompting Davies to jokingly refer to Lincicome as “Sign Gir.”
Lincicome won the Kraft Nabisco Championship, an LPGA major, in 2009 after making an eagle on the final hole to leapfrog Kristy McPherson, who had a one-shot lead entering the final hole.
Lincicome lost a sudden-death playoff to Inbee Park at the LPGA Championship in August 2014. She had a one-shot lead going into the 72nd hole, but made bogey to force a playoff.
Lincicome was eliminated from the playoff at the first extra hole after making a bogey to Park’s par.
Lincicome won her second major championship in April 2015, when she won the ANA Inspiration for the second time.
She moved into a tie for first place after eagled the 72nd hole in regulation play, just as she did when she won the title in 2009.
Lincicome defeated fellow American Stacy Lewis in a sudden-death playoff, winning with a par on the third extra hole.
Lincicome received a sponsor’s exemption to the PGA Tour’s Barbasol Championship in 2018. She became the fifth woman to compete in a PGA Tour sanctioned event, and the first since Michelle Wie in 2008.
Lincicome missed the cut by 9 shots after shooting 78 (+6) and 71 (1) in her second round, becoming only the second woman to break par on the PGA Tour.
In 2022, she has recorded an average distance of 259.4 currently.
Personal Life
Brittany Lincicome is happily married since December 2015 to Dewald Gouws. Gouws is a South African professional Golf long drive competitor who once stretched the tape measure to 465 yards.
They first met in the grandstands at the 2012 World Long Drive Championship in Nevada, where Gouws wasn’t competing but left with her autograph on his muscular chest after saying hello to Britanny.
Their love story has been said to be love at first drive.
The couple is blessed with a daughter, Emery Gouws who was born in July 2019 and they are currently expecting their second child, for which Britanny is 7 months pregnant.
