Akio Toyoda was born May 3, 1956 in Nagoya, to Shoichiro Toyoda and Hiroko. Since his great-great-grandfather, Ikichi Toyoda, taught his son fabrication and carpentry, the Toyoda family has long dominated the highest administration of the family companies.
