Early Life And Education
AJ Akuoko Sarpong, the youngest of 15 children born to Nana Kwame Akuoko-Sarpong and Alice Afful Asamah, grew up in both Ghana and the UK. She is from Asante Akyem Agogo in the Ashanti Region.
AJ Sarpong attended various schools in Ghana before completing her education with a degree in Political Science and Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana, Legon. She later earned two Master’s Degrees in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism and in Brands and Communication Management from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

With over 13 years of experience in television and radio production, event production, MCing, and media concept development, AJ Sarpong has worked at various media outlets.
Starting her career at Ghanamusic.com, she later moved on to positions at YFM and EIB Network, where she hosted various shows and interviewed numerous international and Ghanaian music stars. She also worked as a presenter, producer, and host for shows like “Tales from the Powder Room” and “Live from the Capital.”
AJ Sarpong has been actively involved in content production since 2014, creating bespoke TV shows and assisting in the production of reality shows and events. She also developed successful radio programs such as The Starr Woman Project for Starr 103.5 FM.
After working at EIB Network where she hosted Tales from the Powder Room on GHOne TV, AJ Sarpong joined Citi FM in 2017 as a broadcast journalist.
